Animal Care Facilities

  1. Laboratory.
    • In addition to standard equipment such as microscopes and centrifuges, the laboratory has automated blood chemistry and cell counting instruments, and a pharmacy stocked with antibiotics, intravenous fluids, and other medications.

      The surgical suite has with all of the necessary medical equipment
      to perform surgeries.

  2. Surgical suite.
    • The surgical suite may include an x-ray machine, anesthesia equipment, a respirator unit, an ultrasound machine, and a surgery table.

      Animals recover in isolation pools and enclosures
      suited to their specific needs.

  3. Food preparation room.
    • The food preparation room is outfitted with a freezer, thawing sinks, grinders, blenders, stomach tubes, and nursing bottles to accommodate animals requiring special diets, bottle feeding, or tube feeding.
  4. Recovery areas.
    • After treatment, the animals recover in appropriate holding pools and enclosures suited to their specific needs.
