FIELD STUDY - INDIAN RIVER LAGOON DOLPHINS
Biography - Meet the Scientist

DANIEL K. ODELL, Ph.D.

My name is Dan Odell and I'm currently studying dolphins in the Indian River Lagoon (IRL) on the east coast of Florida.

I'm a research biologist for SeaWorld Orlando, Florida. My job is to oversee the scientific research and scientific publishing activities for all of the SeaWorld parks. I'm also the scientific coordinator for the Southeastern United States Marine Mammal Stranding Network. My research interests include the biology and ecology of bottlenose dolphins, dwarf and pygmy sperm whales and the Florida manatee.
This project is on-going indefinitely and updates will be made periodically here within SeaWorld/Busch Gardens ANIMALS. However, bad weather might keep me from going out in the field and the updates may be delayed.
