Animal Welfare at SEA Parks

Our overarching zoological mission is to foster conservation awareness and to impart action on our park guests to preserve wild animals and wild places.

SEAWORLD PARKS & ENTERTAINMENT™ is one of the world's foremost zoological organizations and a global leader in animal training, husbandry, welfare and veterinary care. The well-being of animals at our facilities is a top priority. Our team members have been caring for animals for more than five decades and have amassed an expertise that is a resource for zoos and aquariums worldwide. This commitment to caring for our animals has been independently verified by the premier zoological and animal welfare certification programs of American Humane (AHA), the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and the Alliance of Marine Mammal Parks and Aquariums (AMMPA). These organizations have reviewed our facilities, animal health and welfare programs and accredited that each of our facilities and animal care programs meet or exceed best practices today.

SEA Mission

Our overarching zoological mission is to foster conservation awareness and to impart action on our park guests to preserve wild animals and wild places. The animals in our facilities are the faces of those animals and places that need protecting. As such, our animals serve in an important capacity as ambassadors for their kind. We are committed to providing environments that provide conditions that the animals have evolved to experience. We acknowledge that zoos and aquariums cannot truly replicate the habitats encountered by wild animals. As far as possible, we commit to applying the highest zoological standards and most recent animal welfare science when attempting to provide environments that meet the animals' behavioral and physiological needs.
